Achievement for All

Examination Invigilator

Hourly rate £8.21 plus holiday pay

The King’s School with 1100 students is an outstanding 11-18 comprehensive school with ambitious students, supportive parents and excellent facilities.  We have a strong reputation for success across the curriculum and an extra-curricular programme which is valued highly by the whole school community. A commitment to the philosophy of ‘Achievement for All’ and a desire to work in an exciting, dynamic, creative and supportive way are essential for all staff at The King’s School.

We are looking to appoint several enthusiastic invigilators to join our in-house team of around 10 staff.  The successful candidates do not need specific experience as training will be given.  Although not essential, experience of working with young people, ideally in a school environment, would be an advantage. You will be responsible for the supervision of students, confidential exam papers/documentation and information relating to students and their assessment records.  This post requires strong communication skills, a good level of literacy, the ability to work as part of a team, as well as the ability to show initiative.  This academic year we have work available from 13th – 17th January, 20th – 24th April and 11th May – 24th June 2020.  Exam sessions run in the morning from 08:30-12:00, and in the afternoon from 12:30-16:00.  Each session lasts for approximately 3-4 hours.  Work is available on a variable hour’s basis, dependent on availability.  We are specifically looking to recruit invigilators who are able invigilate year-on-year.

Please contact Ms Pickering (recruitment@thekings.devon.sch.uk) for further details or see our website and apply online.  The closing date is noon, Friday 18th October with a view to interview on the 28th October.  We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of students so all staff are enhanced DBS checked.
