Inspection Reports
Our most recent inspection, took place on 14 and 15 January 2025. Under the new Ofsted framework, the single-word judgement of a school’s performance has been removed. Instead, parents see gradings across four sub-categories: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership & management. Our school also has a separate grade for its Sixth Form provision.
This was our first inspection in nearly 11 years, and we are delighted with the outcome, which highlights the exceptional quality of education and care we provide at The King’s School. We received ‘outstanding’ ratings in several key areas, including Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, and Sixth Form Provision. The inspectors praised the high aspirations we hold for all our students, as well as the well-structured and rigorous curriculum that allows them to thrive both academically and personally.
One of the highlights of the inspection was the outstanding feedback about our students' behaviour. The inspectors noted that our students display exemplary conduct both in lessons and throughout the school, demonstrating kindness, respect, and empathy—values that are at the heart of our ethos.
We are also incredibly proud of the recognition for our Sixth Form, which was described as ‘outstanding’. The inspectors were particularly impressed with the curriculum and the leadership opportunities we offer, which enable students to develop essential skills and pursue their aspirations with confidence.
Furthermore, the report praised our strong pastoral support. The inspectors highlighted how our staff go above and beyond to support students' academic and emotional well-being, contributing to excellent attendance rates and a positive school culture.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our students, staff, and parents for their continued dedication and support. This outstanding result is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our entire school community. I am also incredibly grateful for the positive feedback from parents, which played an important role in the outcome of the inspection.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to maintaining the high standards that have been recognised in this report. We are proud of everything we have achieved so far, and we are excited about continuing to build on our successes, ensuring that every student is given the best opportunities to flourish.
